October '08 TOTAL E&P UK

Aberdeenshire Reading Challenge. Total sponsors this innovative project from Aberdeenshire Library Service, designed to encourage school children to read over the summer holiday period.

There is a range of prizes across different age groups for the children who read the most books. From a relatively modest start 8 years ago when 1,500 children took part, in 2008, more than 7,000 have participated which is hugely encouraging.

With a myriad of distractions such as computers and other electronic gadgets, it is great to see that books continue to hold such a fascination for the children of the area. Mearns & Gill has been involved in the design and creation of all the support material for many years and are delighted to have played a part in this success story.

October '08

M&G Account Director Tania Mearns is involved in a voluntary capacity serving on the Music Hall's Business Development Committee in generating ideas for the forthcoming Music Hall 150th celebrations in 2009.

October '08 Talisman Energy and Transition

Joint Outreach Programme. Both are clients of Mearns & Gill, who organised an event to announce Talisman's generous donation for the Transition Outreach Programme.

October '08 Wireline Engineering

Wireline Engineering celebrates a decade in business this year.

Mearns & Gill has been involved in the production of a range of marketing material including stand material for a Saudi exhibition from concept to completion, adverts, website development and a suite of brochures promoting its range of innovative well intervention tools.

September/October '08 William Wilson

Campaign to promote ‘VAT free’ sale on STV in Glasgow area for the first time to boost sales in its showcase Hillington branch. As a direct result, this delivered increased footfall and increased individual customer spend.

September '08 Aberdeen Performing Arts

M&G was instrumental in creating the branding for APA's first in-house production of 'Sunset Song' by Lewis Grassic Gibbon.

The production itself has received reviews: 'Landmark Production' Press & Journal; 'Handsome Presentation' The Sunday Herald

September '08 aspc

During September and October, a new television commercial has been running on STV to promote the services/facilities of aspc.

This complements press, radio and outdoor activity which has also been running this year. There are challenging times for the property market, but aspc is as determined as ever to demonstrate its commitment to the market, as well as its over-70-strong member firms.

Earlier in the year, Mearns & Gill also assisted with a series of member firm evenings, where firms were invited to evening events in the Centre to learn more about new initiatives designed specifically to assist them and their clients.

September '08 St Andrews Prize for the Environment

Over the last few months, an international press campaign has been running encouraging entries for this now well established Environmental Prize, sponsored jointly by ConocoPhillips and the University of St Andrews.

On line promotional activity has also been running with the aim of driving more people to the website, and some encouraging results have been achieved. Closing date for entries is 31 October.

Mearns & Gill is responsible for the website, promotional activity and all PR associated with the initiative.

September '08 Shell

Dinner dances took place in a huge luxury marquee at Kings Links over two separate evenings and more than 1300 guests partied the nights away!

The theme was Retro and among a variety of entertainment laid on, there were performances by Diana Ross and appearances by Elton John, Tina Turner, John Lennon and Freddie Mercury! Mearns & Gill event managed the entire operation, including creating a bespoke on-line booking system for guests.

September '08 Tinto Architecture

Tinto Architecture Award finalist. Mearns & Gill wrote and submitted a nomination on behalf of Richard Tinto for the Northern Star Business Awards. As a result, Richard reached the finals and the publicity received so far has been invaluable.

Congratulations Richard! Mearns & Gill was responsible for the creation of a range of marketing collateral recently for Tinto Architecture, including its website.

August '08 Lochter Activity Centre

Lochter Activity Centre rebranding. Mearns & Gill was appointed to redevelop the Lochter brand across all marketing collateral.

A new and more sophisticated website, with full content management system, was designed and developed.

July '08 Buchan Braes Hotel

Mearns & Gill devised and implemented a PR and marketing campaign to launch this new hotel. With the support of innovative photography, we produced a series of adverts, mailers, a facility brochure and separate wedding brochure for the hotel.

PR, including copywriting, was provided along with event management support for the opening launch event. The website was also designed and developed by Mearns & Gill. We continue to provide ongoing marketing support to the Buchan Braes Hotel.

July '08 Bibby Offshore

Mearns & Gill organised an interactive staff briefing event for Bibby Offshore.

This took place at Aberdeen Football Club and more than 100 staff attended.
